Ahead of the Hunkar Rally on Thursday, Bihar BJP has moved from cup of tea at NaMo tea stalls in Patna to crisp jalebis named after party’s PM candidate Narendra Modi. Party leader Ravi Shankar Prasad on Wednesday said that the rally would herald a change in Bihar’s political spectrum.
At Sharsha, local BJP MlA Alok Ranjan is running a fast food joint offering free hot and crisp NaMo jalebis to people while inviting them for the Hunkar Rally. “People are quite excited about Narendra Modi and want to hear him at the rally. We wish to offer jalebis to sweeten their wish and mouth so that Narendra Modi will be the next PM of the country,” he said.
Earlier, State BJP legislator Nitin Navin had inaugurated NaMo tea stall at some localities of Patna to sell tea in the name of party’s PM candidate. “It was symbolic that our great leader too was selling tea at a Gujarat station in his early days so we launched NaMo tea at some tea stalls,” said the BJP MlA.
People were seen sipping tea at NaMo tea stalls while making discussion on the expected huge turnout at the Hunkar Rally and its star speaker Narendra Modi. “We are discussing and debating what Modi will speak in Bihar and will he target Nitish Kumar in his denIJ” said Narendra Kumar, a smalltime businessman at Mandiri locality of central Patna.
With the Hunkar Rally just a few days after speculations in the State’s political corridor is rife that Narendra Modi will target Nitish Kumar addressing the rally goers while making reference about the dinner cancelled by the Bihar Chief Minister three years ago.
Meanwhile, State party sources told The Pioneer that team Narendra Modi has asked the Bihar BJP to inform them the local issues that should be highlighted by Narendra Modi at the rally. “Yes, we’re mulling over a number of such issues and would pass them soon to our leader,” said a State BJP leader but refused to disclose the issues at the moment.
Meanwhile, party leaders from Bihar now have started visiting Bihar to monitor the last minute preparation of the rally. Party leader and Rajya Sabha MP Ravi Shankar Prasad said that after the Hunkar Rally there would be a marked change in the political spectrum of the State. The Hunkar Rally would be a historic one as youths of the country and all sections of society are looking upto Narendra Modi for being the next Prime Minister of the country.
The BJP leader also took a dig at Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar saying after the party split with BJP on June 16, Nitish Kumar has not been making any public appearance to make his points. “I’d request Nitish Kumar to hold such rallies to address people and make his points..but, he has stopped”.
The other BJP leaders like Shatrughan Sinha, who earlier had shot in limelight for praising Nitish Kumar who possess all the qualities to become the Prime Minister, too has started moving in the State appealing people to attend Hunkar Rally in large number. Similarly, Sushil Modi, Shahnawaz Hussain, Ashwani Choubey, Dr CP Thakur, Nand Kishore Yadav and other party leaders too are pulling all stops together to make the rally a huge success.
At the Gandhi Maidan, venue of the Hunkar Rally, a huge tent measuring over 2.5 lakh sq feet is being erected for the lakhs of supporters expected to come to attend the rally. Besides arranging food - packets of puri-sabji and chuda-gur- and shelter, BJP workers have also arranged over one lakh daatuns for their convenience.
Party has formed a Nagrik Manch of some city residents to provide food and other amenities to the rally-goers. They are setting up collection and distribution centres to manage easy distribution of food packets.
Besides, the party has also distributed two CDs ‘NaMo Hunkar’ and ‘Modi banenge PM’ right up to the village level to spread the message of Hunkar Rally. Bhojpuri superstar Manoj Tiwari — who recently joined the BJP — has also been roped in to pull and entertain crowds at the rally.
Almost all senior party leaders from Bihar — 12 MPs and 91 MlAs, too have been pressed to make the rally a historic in which party leader Narendra Modi would storm the bastion of Nitish Kumar.
