Housing and Urban Development Corporation Limited (HUDCO), under Special Campaign 6.0, undertook a series of activities across its corporate office and regional offices to promote cleanliness, environmental sustainability, community welfare and efficient workplace management, reaffirming its commitment to the vision of a cleaner, greener and more inclusive India.

A key highlight of the campaign was HUDCO’s initiative at the Institution for the Blind, Lajpat Nagar, New Delhi, through CSR, aimed at improving the campus environment and creating cleaner, safer and more accessible spaces for students and staff. As part of the initiative, over 100 saplings were planted and flower pots were placed across the campus to enhance its green cover.

The classrooms and boundary walls were painted with creative wall artwork, adding vibrancy to the premises. Infrastructure improvement measures included replacement of the wired mesh in ground-floor windows, installation of a new gate and creation of a shaded vehicle parking area. The playground and other campus areas were cleared of waste and debris, while the temple terrace and adjoining walls were cleaned and painted.

These interventions reflect HUDCO’s commitment to inclusive community development, environmental conservation and the creation of dignified, hygienic and aesthetically improved surroundings for institutions serving persons with visual disabilities. In addition, HUDCO’s Pan Indian offices undertook various activities focused on cleanliness, workplace improvement and responsible resource management. The initiatives included cleanliness drives, administration of the Swachhta Pledge, collection of plastic waste, awareness activities, systematic cleaning and organisation of office premises, and weeding out of old files and records. Scrap, obsolete IT equipment and other redundant materials were disposed of through authorised procedures.

These measures contributed to improved space utilisation, efficient asset management and the development of cleaner, clutter-free and better-organised workplaces. The campaign also encouraged employee participation and reinforced the importance of responsible waste disposal and sustainable workplace practices.

Recognising the significant contribution of personnel engaged in maintaining cleanliness and hygiene, HUDCO also organised an Eye Check-up Camp in collaboration with Centres for Sight Hospital for Swachhta Mitras, housekeeping personnel, multi-tasking staff and security personnel. The initiative underscored HUDCO’s commitment to occupational health, employee welfare and the well-being of its support workforce.

Through Special Campaign 6.0, HUDCO continues to strengthen the culture of cleanliness, environmental responsibility, community engagement and workplace efficiency. The initiatives demonstrate the Corporation’s belief that Swachhata extends beyond maintaining clean surroundings to encompass sustainable practices, employee welfare, inclusive development and collective responsibility towards building a healthier and more sustainable India.
