The BJP on Friday welcomed the Election Commission's announcement of Assembly polls in Himachal Pradesh saying they are all geared up for the November 12 polling and hoped that the people of the State would ‘bless’ the party again.
BJP’s national president J P Nadda appealed to the people to elect a Government which contributes to the State's progress.
''Election is the biggest celebration of democracy. It is a medium to keep the country and the state on the path of development and good governance,'' Nadda said after the announcement of the poll in his home state.
In his reaction to the poll announcement Union Minister Anurag Thakur, who also hails from Himachal, said, “ Our government in Himachal Pradesh has done a lot of good work in the state. The people of the state also think that our double-engine govt (Centre & state) has done all-round development in the state. I'm confident that the people of HP will again bless BJP.”
Himachal Pradesh CM Jairam Thakur said that a strong election campaign would be undertaken by the party and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Nadda and Union home minister Amit Shah are to visit the state for campaigning and that the BJP would win the polls, he said.
