In wake of the ongoing tension with the neighbouring country on the Kashmir border, the Border Security Force, particularly its water wing, has been issued a high alert on the Kutch borders with Pakistan.
Sources in BSF west zone headquarters in Gandhinagar said that Kutch border was alerted following Pakistan’s mischief on the Jammu & Kashmir borders by shelling the civilian population and India’s retaliation causing heavy casualties on the Pakistani side. The sources further said that the BSF’s water wing had been particularly alerted to keep a very close watch on the Harami Nala area near Sir Creek in the Gulf of Kutch. Pointing out that the current heavy shelling in the J&K border could be a cover for helping the terrorists to infiltrate into India.
Some intelligence inputs claimed that Pakistan had trained about 450 terrorists to infiltrate into India and attempt could be made by it to push some or all of them through the difficult terrain of Harami Nala if it was unable to breach the North Indian borders due to the alertness of the Indian border guards.
