The Bombay High Court on Monday directed its registry to file a report on July 24 on the pending appeals by convicts in different cases. Chief Justice Mohit Shah passed this order, while hearing a petition filed by Shashsikala Gangurde, the wife of a murder convict Bhagwan Gangurde, alleging that the cases of celebrities like Salman Khan and Shiney Ahuja were being heard regularly, while the appeals like the one made by her husband were pending. In her petition, the petitioner has stated that her husband was convicted in a murder case in 2009 and he had urged for bail, but the plea was rejected. The high court had directed the Registry to place his appeal for final hearing in October 2009, but till date it had not come up for hearing. She also cited similar other pending appeals to buttress her case.
