Stick out your neck and take a decision, the Delhi High Court on Wednesday told the Centre, giving it the option of either deciding how to deal with unauthorised colonies or ensure the presence of its Urban Development (UD) Secretary on the next date of hearing to explain why nothing has been done yet.
A Bench of justices BD Ahmed and Sanjeev Sachdeva gave the options to the Ministry of Urban Development after having directed the the Ministry to finalise policy on regularisation of illegal properties by March 25. “Why don’t you take a decisionIJ Why are you afraidIJ Stick out your neck. Take a practical view,” the Bench told the Government, adding that the Ministry does not want to decide “as some of them live there”.
