Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra facing cash-for-query charges has once again lashed out at the BJP leadership — for trying to expel her from Lok Sabha —for employing an Ethics Committee which asked “Behuda (stupid), Besharam (shameless)” questions.
Once again taking to X handle the TMC MP who has till now not received any active support from her party reminded the Committee that she had “exact transcript” of the Chairman’s “cheap” and irrelevant” questions and warned before trying to expel her, “Also BJP - before you push out women MPs with fake narrative, remember I have the exact transcript of record in Ethics Committee verbatim. Chairman’s cheap sordid irrelevant questions, Opposition’s protests, my protests --- all there in official black and white.”
The MP who had earlier told journalists in Kolkata that there was a concerted effort on the part of the BJP government to “expel me from Parliament … which they cannot without suffering its consequence” wrote in a ridiculing manner, “shaking in my skin to know BJP is planning criminal cases against me. Welcome them --- only know that CBI and ED need to file FIR against Adani for Rs 13,000 crore coal scam, before they question how many pairs of shoes I have.”
Moitra had on Thursday walked out of the Ethics Committee meeting along with other Opposition members protesting against alleged “personal” and “nonsensical” and “humiliating” questions being asked to her.
“They did not ask from me questions relevant to the matter ... I would have answered everything … instead of doing so they started asking questions from a pre-scripted list of questionnaire on my personal life … and very personal things which is humiliating for a woman,” Moitra had said after coming out of the meeting where she was summoned to explain her conduct regarding alleged acceptance of bribe for asking questions in parliament for one business group against a rival house. She has also been accused by the BJP of revealing her Lok Sabha
