The Opposition in the Haryana Assembly staged a walkout on Wednesday in the ongoing Budget session on alleged favour given to the Rajiv Gandhi Charitable Trust by the State Government while allotting five acres land in Gurgaon.
Members from Opposition, Ram Pal Majra of INlD, MlA from SAD, BJP legislature Anil Vij and Renuka Bishnoi of HJC, quoted media reports alleging that the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) had raised questions over the release of land and slammed State Government for “undue favour bestowed on the Trust”.
However, the report of the CAG has not been tabled in the Haryana assembly to date.
Randeep Singh Surjewala, Minister for Parliamentary affairs, while countering the allegations made by opposition benches said that though a petition was filed in this case, it was disposed of by the Punjab and Haryana High Court. “However, the CAG report is yet to be tabled in the session hence nobody can comment on it before presenting it in the House,” added Surjewala.
Senior leader of INlD and MlA from Ellnabad Abhay Singh Chautala alleged that state government while making rules flexible for the Rajiv Gandhi Charitable Trust not only favoured the trust but also misled the people of Haryana.
Haryana Chief Minister, Bhupinder Singh Hooda said that the INlD is trying to mislead the people by camouflaging the issue of land allotted to Ch. Devi lal and Harki Devi Trust by raising the issue of Rajiv Gandhi Charitable Trust to be set up at Ulahhawas in district Gurgaon. They were doing so because the report concerning Ch. Devi lal Trust and Harki Devi Trust is about to come.
Hooda said the State Government has not flouted any rule in the allotment of land to Rajiv Gandhi Charitable Trust. He said that the petition in this regard has already been disposed of by the Punjab and Haryana High Court and no case in this regard was pending in any Court. “The land was given on lease for the project on the proposal of Ulahhawas Gram Panchayat and the hospital proposed to be constructed in this land was to be run on No Profit No loss basis”, said Hooda.
