After remaining in hibernation post Gujarat Assembly polls, pro-quota Patidar leader Hardik Patel has become active again as he decided to launch Gujarat Jagruti Yatra (awareness march) in view of upcoming lok Sabha elections.
Indicating about his plans the 24-year-old Patidar leader said that the Yatra would cover 26 out of 33 districts in Gujarat. “We will create awareness on burning issues related to farmers, unemployment and reservation. The Yatra will roam around breadth and length of the state for 18 days,” said the Patidar Anamat Andolan Samiti (PAAS) leader adding that exact date and schedule of the Yatra will be announced in coming days.
Sources in PAAS said that the Yatra would begin in the month of June and it would be focused on rural parts of the state. It would also passed through major urban centre of the State, he added.
During the Yatra PAAS workers would create awareness on poor policies of Government and bad governance in Gujarat. Most probably the 18-day long Yatra will be started from the mountain town Junagadh.
Patel said that he would like to bring change with love and compassion not hatred. Interestingly Patel is no emphasising alone on the issue of reservation to his community under OBC category but clearly he is trying to woo other communities also by raising issues of farmers and unemployment.
The PAAS leader is turning 25 next year and he would be eligible to contest elections. In the political circles of Gujarat speculations are high that Hardik may contest lok Sabha elections from Morbi constituency the way OBC leader Alpesh Thakore and Dalit leader Jignesh Mevani fought Assembly elections successfully in 2017.
