Acting on a complaint filed by Samajwadi Party State president Rabi Behera in connection with the hand chopping of two bonded labourers of Kalahandi district, the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has registered a case and started investigation.
“Following the December 16 inhuman act where hands of Nilambar Dhangada Majhi and Dialu Nial were chopped off, we lodged a complaint with the NHRC seeking justice to the victims, besides stringent action against the accused persons,” said Behera. The commission on Monday informed through an SMS that a case bearing number 4952/18/6/2013 was registered and investigation was started, said Behera.
