The Governor of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, ESl Narasimhan, is contemplating a meeting with the two Chief Ministers in the backdrop of widening rift over the alleged cash-for-vote scam and the phone tapping. The meeting could be held together or separately, sources said. The Governor, who met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Finance Minister Arun Jaitely in New Delhi to submit his report on the happenings in Hyderabad, discussed the ways to cool down the temperature on both sides. Sources said the Prime Minister asked the Governor to ensure that the situation does not get out of hand and the feelings of both the States were not hurt.
Sources said that Naidu also informed the Prime Minister that Telangana CM K Chandrashekar Rao had come to seek Governor’s permission to book Andhra Pradesh counterpart Chandrababu Naidu in cash-for-vote scam. Governor said KCR had submitted to him the material evidence of the case adding he did not grant the permission and is waiting for the ACB’s submission to the court. Moreover, Naidu had complained that the Governor was not handling the law and order in Hyderabad under the Section 8 of the AP State Reorganization Act. When asked about it, Narasimhan said that he does not have any view on this issue.
