Gorkha Janmukti Morcha chief Bimal Gurung on Tuesday hardened his stance saying the GTA accord had not yielded its desired result making obvious his future plans to revive the Gorkhaland call.
Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee however said she would not let the State split. The agreement signed between his party and the new Trinamool Government four years ago giving rise to the Gorkha land Territorial Administration had failed to deliver the goods and hence his party was thinking of making a fresh demand for a separate Gorkhaland.
Three GJM MlAs would to resign from the State Assembly on Friday the party leadership said. “There is no scope of talks with the State Government. Now the GJM will only talk with the Centre and not the State” Gurung said.
Banerjee who was in Darjeeling for announcing the opening of a second campus of the Presidency University at Kurseong however said “come what may we will not allow division of Bengal.” She said I will not let the State be divided even if I have to sacrifice my life for this.”
