Financial Penalty of over Rs 57 lakh was imposed on 267 violators from October 15 to November 30 by the teams deployed to monitor implementation of measures to combat pollution in Gurugram under the Under the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP). The GRAP had come into force from October 15.
These include Rs 1.30 lakh penalty imposed on 13 violators in case of burning of garbage, Rs 5.75 lakh on 23 violators of C&D dumping, Rs 85 thousand on 17 violators of spreading of garbage and non-compliance of environmental regulations in construction activities.
A total of 195 violators faced fines amounting to Rs 48.75 lakh who were involved in dust blowing and Rs 25 imposed on violators ferrying construction material without cover.A team of Municipal Corporation, Gurugram visited multiple locations in the city after several complaints were received from these places by the residents.
