Backing her mentor Narendra Modi’s concept of ‘Model Village’, Gujarat’s Chief Minister Anandiben Patel on Friday said that the Gujarat Government will wholeheartedly support the Prime Minister’s proposed scheme under which MPs will develop one model village each in their constituencies.

Patel ensured that the concept of ‘Model Village’ given on the occasion of India’s 68thIndependence Day by the Prime Minister would be implemented effectively in Gujarat not only from MPs grants only but also from MlAs grants.

Talking exactly in lines with the Modi’s address to the nation from the historic Red Fort in New Delhi, the Gujarat Chief Minister also spoke on social issues like malnourishment, cleanliness and construction of toilets at every home in Gujarat in her speech after the flag hoisting ceremony in the North Gujarat town Patan.

Admiring her illustrious predecessor Narendra Modi, she said that son of Gujarat is providing a leadership of confidence to the people of India with good governance and transparency in administration, which in itself is a matter of pride for the State.

“The Gujarat government is determined to provide toilets in every house by 2019 to mark Mahatma Gandhi’s 150thbirth anniversary,” she said terming mal-nourishment and house without toilet as blots on Indian society.

Anandiben also called prominent people of the State to come forward and be part of State Government’s campaign against social taboos, malnourishment and other social issues. She also gave information about the women related schemes floated in her Government’s first Budget.

“A very few nations could compare India’s long freedom struggle, in scale or gallantry, by freedom fighters, known and unknown. And Gujarat remained in the forefront of this struggle. That is the people of Gujarat could rise above the narrow social and public consideration,” she said adding that Gujarat continued to maintain development as its mantra even in the 21st Century. India’s development lies in Gujarat’s development.
