Gujarat Cabinet approved former Gujarat High Court judge Justice DP Buch for nomination as the lokayukta of Gujarat on Wednesday.
Gujarat’s Council of Ministers at its Cabinet chaired by Chief Minister Narendra Modi approved the name of retired judge Buch for nomination as the lokayukta of Gujarat as suggested by the Chief Justice of Gujarat High Court, said Gujarat Government adding that the State Cabinet has requested the Gujarat’s Governor to issue the warrant for nomination of retired judge DP Buch as Gujarat’s lokayukta.
On August 7, Justice RA Mehta, who was appointed as the State’s lokayukta by Gujarat Governor didn’t accept the post after winning a long legal battle between Gujarat Government and Governor Kamla Beniwal over his appointment.
