With a view to boost-up Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Digital India Mission’ and ‘Cashless India’ initiatives, Gujarat has achieved a milestone by directly depositing Rs 1,180-crore into the bank accounts of 65,77,000 students, who were beneficiaries under various beneficial schemes. To keep transparency in distribution of scholarships, uniforms assistances, post-matriculate and pre-matriculate aids to the tribal students, under 60-odd schemes of State Tribal Development and Social Justice Rights Department, were directly deposited in their bank accounts. Besides this, to fulfill dream of ‘Digital Gujarat’, the Science and Technology Department has developed ‘Digital Gujarat Portal.’ This portal will provide more than 100-online services to the beneficiaries.
