A team of the Union Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), led by a deputy secretary and consisting three assistant directors, swooped down on the registered offices of NGOs being run by Teesta and her husband Javed in Mumbai following the letter of Gujarat Government alleging violations of Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA).
“They spent six full days from April 6 to April 11 examining the original accounts and records of Citizens for Justice and Peace and Sabrang Trust run by the social activists,” said sources, adding that the team had completed inspections and would submit its report soon.
