With a view to giving extra cover of security to women in the State, Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani launched ‘181 Abhayam’ Mobile Application on Monday.
According to the Sate Government the Mobile app would provide effective help to women in distress, anywhere in the State. It would also help police to curb crime against women, said the Chief Minister.
The application developed by the State Government’s Women & Child Development Department with the help of GVK EMRI can be downloaded from Google Play Store Apple iOS. He suggested wide acceptance of the application.
The helpline starts working on pressing the panic button, even by vigorously shaking the mobile, indicating the location on google map through SDR, alerting the police station, automatically informing up to five acquaintances of the woman. Snaps taken on the spot can serve as evidence, too.
