Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani on Tuesday inaugurated the Ambardi lions Safari Park on a 350 hectare plot in Dhari taluka in Amreli district on the east of Gir Sanctuary – the only abode of Asiatic lions. The CM unveiled the plaque at the Sinh Dwar, entrance to the park and also opened an animal upkeep centre. Rupani said more tourists from India and abroad might now visit the safari park to see the pride of lions rather than go to Gir sanctuary. He said that Amreli district might emerge as a new tourism hub and might provide jobs to many. Many pro-people development works have been sanctioned for Amreli district and many more may be awarded.
