In the poll-bound Gujarat where Patidar and Dalit agitations are continuously simmering, the ruling BJP is resorting on its biggest brand — Narendra Modi.
Both Dalit and Patidar agitations are being led by two leaders in their early twenties — Jignesh Mevani and Hardik Patel. To counter them, State BJP leadership is aggressively promoting Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s mobile application.
In order to make BJP Yuva Morcha’s workers conversant with the Modi’s mobile app, a booth has been erected at the State BJP headquarters ‘Shree Kamalam’ on the outskirts of State capital Gandhinagar to make them acquainted with the mobile application. Sources in the BJP said that these trained workers would meet youngsters in different educational institutional and encourage them to connect with Modi.
Even Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani too promoted the app saying that it would be a great opportunity for the people to connect and greet the Prime Minister through ‘Narendra Modi App’ on his birthday.
Meanwhile, the Prime Minister is arriving Gujarat on Friday late in the evening to celebrate his 66th birthday in his home-State and to take blessings of his mother Hira Ba. According to official protocol, Modi is expected to arrive at Ahmedabad airport at around 11 pm and straight away drive down to Raj Bhavan in Gandhinagar where he will have night stay.
On September 17, Modi will begin the day by visiting his younger brother Pankaj’s home to take blessings of nonagenarian Hira Ba around 8.30 am. After touching feet of mother, Modi would return to Raj Bhavan and will have important meeting with State BJP functionaries — including Chief Minister, Ministers and important office-bearers of the Gujarat BJP.
After the meeting, he would travel to limkheda near Dahod town in central Gujarat to inaugurate an irrigation project and address a huge gathering of tribal people. Post tribal rally, the Prime Minister would again fly to South Gujarat town Navsari and address Samajik Adhikarita Shibir around 4.50 pm. Post this function, he would reach at Surat airport and travel back to Delhi by an Indian Air Force aircraft.
Sources in the Gujarat Administrative Department (GAD) said that Modi would use road routes from Ahmedabad to Gandhinagar on Friday and to reach at his brother’s place on Saturday morning. For limkheda in Central Gujarat and Navsari functions, the Prime Minister would travel by helicopter, said the official source.
