BJP leader Subramanian Swamy on Thursday demanded action against former Finance Minister P Chidamabram for ignoring mandatory security clearances from Home Ministry for floating GSTN, a company floated to create IT backbone for GST.

Uploading the RTI response he got from Finance Ministry, Swamy said Chidamabram should be prosecuted for this blatant violation.

GSTN was formed during UPA regime in March 2013 with 51 percent private banks participation. Swamy was in the forefront for scrapping this private partnership model in strategic tax collection network. Finance Ministry in RTI response to Swamy said there was no security clearance taken from Home Ministry.
