Govt push in rural belts stronger than ever: Rekha

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Sunday told BJP workers in Najafgarh that the government’s push in rural belts was stronger than ever. She was speaking at the party’s Tridev Conference in Dichau Kalan, where she received a warm reception from workers and residents. She said the role of Tridevs, Page Pramukhs, Booth Pramukhs and Shakti Kendra Convenors had shaped the pace of development across the Najafgarh–Kirari belt.

The Chief Minister said the commitment of these workers had helped the region secure funds and attention that earlier governments never provided. She urged voters to give a clear mandate to the BJP candidate from Ward 128. She said a strong vote would show that Najafgarh stood united for growth. “You have supported your MP and MLA with an overwhelming majority. Now is the time to send an even stronger message,” she said.

Senior party leaders MP Kamaljeet Sehrawat, MLA Abhay Verma and ward candidate Rekha Rani attended the event. Thousands of workers and residents were also present. The Chief Minister asked them to keep building the organisation from the ground up. She said their work linked the government with the last person in every street and village.

The Chief Minister said the government had given priority to villages and unauthorised colonies. She said budgetary support had increased for MPs and MLAs so that basic projects could move faster. She said work on drains, sewer lines, roads and civic facilities had picked up pace. She announced that projects worth more than 200 crore rupees had been approved for the Najafgarh–Kirari region. These projects, she said, would solve many issues that had been pending for decades.

She spoke at length about the long neglect of rural Delhi. She said many villages faced waterlogging every monsoon. In several pockets, there were no proper drains, sewer lines or pipelines.

She said earlier governments did not bother to understand these problems. According to her, the new projects worth 200 to 250 crore rupees were designed to give permanent fixes.

The Chief Minister said funds would not be a hurdle. She said each project would get what it needed to reach completion. She praised BJP’s elected representatives for what she called selfless service. She said they were not driven by personal gain, and their work, she added, would shape the next phase of development. The Chief Minister said coordination between the Centre and the State had helped speed up projects. She said the results would soon be visible in every village and colony. She added that people would see the difference in daily life as roads improved and drainage issues eased.

The Chief Minister said rural Delhi had waited long enough; the current push was meant to set the region on the same path of progress as the rest of the capital. She ended her speech with a call to voters to back the BJP candidate and to keep faith in the development drive that had finally reached their doorstep.
