The Cabinet Committee on Parliamentary Affairs on Wednesday recommended prorogation of the Winter Session, paving way for the Government to bring Ordinances on Bills being pushed by Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi.

The CCPA decided to recommend to the President to prorogue the Winter Session, the last session of the 15th lok Sabha which was adjourned sine die on February 21.

The Government looks set to bring Ordinances on two anti-corruption Bills and four other legislations which could not be passed by Parliament. Once the session is prorogued, Government is free to take the Ordinance route.

The Election Commission is expected to announce the lok Sabha election schedule by March first week. As the Model Code of Conduct comes to force from the day of announcement from the Commission, the Government is expected to move Ordinances in the Cabinet meeting on Friday.
