Govt lists its achievements in 100 days
Published on:

The NDA Government has come out with a list of 100 steps it has taken in the first 100 days of the Government. The list covers several areas including governance, economy, foreign policy, defence, agriculture, infrastructure development etc. It also mentions steps taken to remove bottle necks for economic growth and how the Government has converted challenges into opportunities.

There is separate mention about Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership in the list saying how he has been able to infuse a “sense of speed, purpose, seriousness, sincerity and accountability” in decision making, “putting an end to drift and directionless.”

Releasing the list, Parliamentary Affairs and Urban Development Minister Venkaih Naidu said that a good beginning has been made. “The NDA Government has inherited policy paralysis, trade and revenue deficit and several other problems. This success of 100 days should be seen in the backdrop of these problems that we inherited. But now there is a mood of confidence in the leadership, the team and the Government. Government is walking the talk,” Naidu said. The Minister also claimed that the recently concluded Budget session of the new Government has been by far the most successful session of the Parliament.

The Government plans to have 100 Smart Cities, a concept for which PM Modi has been seeking investments and partnerships from all quarters. The Urban Development ministry plans to hold a consultation with State Governments on September 12. “It is the urban local bodies and State Governments which will have a vital role in the execution of the project. We have to take the State Governments on board which is why we have called a meeting of all State Governments to have wide ranged consultations and generate ideas,” said Naidu.
