A Government employee was shot dead by unidentified gunmen in the outskirts of capital Srinagar on Monday. A police spokesman said that unknown assailants shot at and wounded Abdul Ahad Dar at Zakoora locality in outskirts of Srinagar on Monday afternoon. He was hit in head from point blank range and fell in a pool of blood. “Dar was shifted to Institute of Medical Sciences where he succumbed to his injuries,” the official said adding a manhunt has been launched to nab the assailants. The motive behind Dar’s killing, who was an employee with health services, was not immediately known.
