The Kerala Government on Monday slapped provisions of the Kerala Anti-social Activities (Prevention) Act (KAAPA), also known as the Goonda Act, on controversial businessman Muhammad Nisham, nicknamed Ferrari Dad, who recently murdered a security guard by ramming his Hummer SUV into him.
Thrissur District Collector MS Jaya handed over an order in this regard to the Thrissur Police Commissioner. With this, Nisham, presently lodged at the Central Prison in Viyyur, Thrissur under judicial custody in connection with the murder of security guard Chandrabose, will not get bail for six months.
“Nisham had faced a total of 13 cases. Of these, six have been considered for slapping KAAPA provisions on him. Two of these cases are in Bangalore and the rest in Kerala,” Jaya said. The demand for bringing Nisham under KAAPA was being raised by various quarters from the day he was arrested after assaulting Chandrabose.
The cases Nisham had faced included the one pertaining to allowing his nine-year-old son to drive a Ferrari which earned him the nickname, Ferrari Dad. He had also been booked for locking up a woman police official in his Rolls Royce.
