Gogoi offers to quit if allegations in louise Berger scam proved

Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi on Tuesday offered to quit if anyone could prove his indulgence in the louise Berger bribery case.

Gogoi’s reaction came a day after the BJP alleged Gogoi’s involvement in the case saying that Gogoi is a part of the case as all files come to the Chief Minister for his approval.

“If my involvement is proved I’ll quit. But let others also do the same,” Gogoi said while challenging the BJP-led Government in Goa.

“Goa is BJP ruled State and they have gone for a CID probe and so we have also ordered a probe by the CID of the Assam police into the allegation of louise Berger that certain officials and Minister of Assam have been bribed to get a contract for water supply project,” Gogoi said while adding that he is confident over the CID probe.

“All files come to me but it is the responsibility of the concerned Minister to check it,” Gogoi said.
