Self-styled Godman Asaram was brought from Jodhpur Jail amid tight security to an undisclosed place near Gandhinagar on Monday. The Gujarat Police will present the him before the Gandhinagar court on Tuesday.
Asaram was brought to Ahmedabad on a transfer warrant after a sexual assault compliant was lodged against him and his son Narayan by two Surat-based sisters. With Asaram’s supporters gearing up, the state capital witnessed unprecedented security arrangements as the law and order machinery was not willing to take any chances in view of the tainted record of violence of his supporters.
As per the sources, efforts are on to instigate Asaram supporters to indulge in violence. Pamphlets as well as emails claiming conspiracy behind complaints against Asaram and his son have been circulated. Confirming the development, the Surat Police Commissioner Rakesh Asthana said that several such material have been confiscated which shows the clear intentions .
