Girl's 'suicide' inside PS triggers protest in UP

The death of a 19-year-old girl inside a police station campus has led to violent protest when hundred of local villagers gathered outside the Mehmudabad police station and pelted stones, on Monday morning. The protestors demanded action against the cops whose negligence they claimed to have led to the incident. The situation could be only brought under control after senior officers reached the spot and assured of action.

Reports said one Zeenat, hailing from Sonpur hamlet of Gaisadi in Balrampur district and presently living with her father, Maqbul, was reportedly trying to jump into a canal from Nurpul puliya in Mehmudabad of Monday. The cops brought the girl to the PS as they thought the girl was misleading them about their identity. However, the matter took an ugly turn when the girl was found hanging with the ceiling of the toilet inside the police station campus.
