A girl who was assaulted and gangraped by the family members of a rapist whom she had bobbitised at Ramgarhwa village in Motihari is struggling for her life at a Government hospital. The girl was first raped by Samiullah over a week ago when she was going to fields. He recorded his ghastly act in his mobile phone. A few days later he again asked her to come to a lonely place else he would show her video to her family and others. The girl took a blade and getting a chance she cut his genitals.
Enraged over this incident the family members of Samiullah, who is still undergoing treatment, attacked her home and assaulted her family members. They took her away and gangraped while her relatives who had been locked in the house watched the barbarism from the windows. The tormentors also inserted a bamboo in her private parts as punishment for her act of bobbitisation. Sensing that she was dead they left.
Although this incident occurred on June 13, it came to light when some NGOs, social sites and media covered it. East Champaran SP Jeetendra Rana visited the hospital in Motihari and assured that rapists would be arrested at all cost. The police conducted raids at several places but not even a single arrest has so far been made.
Strangely, even the medical board of the Sadar Hospital which examined the victim has not confirmed sexual assault. The girl, who is in critical condition, told the SP about the incident from the beginning and also revealed all the names of the culprits who are close relatives of her rapist.
