Renowned ghazal singer Najmal Babu died after prolonged illness at his residence at Vengara in Malappuram district, family sources said on Wednesday.
Babu, 65, who passed away on Tuesday night, had performed throughout the country. Son of well-known playback singer Abdul Khader, Babu, once active in the ghazal circles of Kozhikode, was keeping away from stage performances for the last few years due to poor health. He is survived by a wife and two children.
