The German Ambassador to India, Dr Philipp Ackermann, met Chief Minister, Arvind Kejriwal at Delhi Secretariat on Wednesday. The Ambassador also praised the Chief Minister and the AAP for the revolutionary changes brought in Delhi Government's schools and hospitals.
“It was astonishing to see Government schools become world-class in just four to five years and I am keen to visit Government schools myself. We are ready to provide expertise to the Delhi Government on various issues and we can also work together in reducing air pollution,” said Dr Ackermann.
Meanwhile, the Chief Minister informed Ambassador Dr. Philipp Ackermann that he focused on transforming schools and hospitals as soon as the government was formed.
“In particular, many steps were taken to equip government schools with modern facilities. Our government demolished the old dilapidated buildings of government schools and built new buildings. Teachers and principals of government schools were sent to well-known institutions of the country and abroad for training,” said Kejriwal.
“After this, revolutionary changes started in the government schools rapidly. We have been spending 25 percent of our total budget on education since the very beginning,” said Kejriwal.
Besides the CM, Deputy Chief Minister, Manish Sisodia and Dialogue and Development Commission Vice-Chairperson, Jasmine Shah were also present in the meeting.
