The Pakistan-returned, deaf and mute Indian girl Geeta will be taken through train from Bihar to Jharkhand to help her identify the railway station close to her village. The Ministries of External Affairs and Railways are working together to chalk out a route map for Geeta, who through gestures, has communicated that she will be able to identify the railway station near her home if she is taken on that track.

On Friday, MEA spokesperson Vikas Swarup said Geeta has claimed that she has an idea about how the railways station looked like. Geeta will be Railways’ special guest. She will be accompanied by an interpreter, an official from the Railways and staff of the institute where she is currently living in Indore. Her journey will begin once the weather improves.

Giving an update about Geeta’s well being, Swarup said she is happy in the Indore institute and taking part in various extra-curricular activities. She is learning Bharatnatyam, stitching and recently participated in a theatre activity. Geeta now has a fridge in her room and she even cooks for herself. “We hope to hand over Geeta to her family just the way we united Sonu,” Swarup said.
