Freak weather conditions continued over most parts of Andhra Pradesh, especially Telangana, and heavy rain and hailstorm played havoc with the normal life for yet another day.At least four people were killed in Warangal in various mishaps and standing crops were damaged in many Telangana and Andhra districts.
Normal life was badly hit in the city of Hyderabad as rain continued on Wednesday evening. As several roads came under water, traffic snarls added to the woes of the people returning from work.
There were massive traffic jams on several routes. Though the sudden change in the weather over last few days brought the soaring temperature under control and also the increasing demand for power experience a major dip, the rains and hail storm left the farming community shell shocked.
More bad news was in store as the weather office warned similar weather condition for another 48 hours and more intense rains in the last week of March. While the pre-summer showers are normal before the heat sets in over this part of the country, this is first time that the state and neighbouring Maharashtra was experiencing so widespread and devastating rains.
Meteorological Department officials said that these rains were result of upper cyclonic storm over Telangana and the moisture rich winds form Arabian Sea as well as West Bengal. Weather condition was cloudy over Hyderabad, and adjoining parts of Telangana and Marahatwada.
