With the celebrations of victory and recrimination over defeat coming to an end, political parties and leaders are now getting down to the serious business of forming Government or chalking out their strategies to play the role of an effective Opposition.

Telangana Rashtra Samiti leader K Chandrashekar Rao, who was unanimously elected as legislature party leader, on Sunday met State Governor ESl Narasimhan and sought his cooperation in forming the Government at the earliest. KCR, who was accompanied by a delegation of party legislators, submitted him the resolution of TRSlP informing the Governor of his election as leader.

The two also discussed various issues relating to Telangana State, including the power crisis, for which KCR sought the Governor’s cooperation in setting up new power plants at the earliest.

Senior TRS leader E Rajinder termed the meeting a customary call. He reiterated that the party will fulfil all the promises made to the people in election manifesto.

Narasimhan will be the Governor of both the States.

In Seemandhra, YSR Congress legislature Party will meet on Tuesday at Idupulapaya estate in Kadapa district to elect party president YS Jaganmohan Reddy as its leader.

Choice of the venue was significant because it is the last resting place of former Chief Minister and Jagan's father YS Rajasekhar Reddy after whom the party has been named. Party sources said that the meeting will also discuss party's future course of actions and policies on various important issues.

Jagan visited his father's grave and paid his respects on Sunday. Meanwhile, the Telugu Desam Party, which returned to power in Seemandhra, was also planning to hold its legislature party meeting to formally elect N Chandrababu Naidu as its leader.

Interestingly, party's annual conference 'Mahanadu' will also be held in Hyderabad on May 27 and 28. Naidu zeroes in on building new capital Naidu’s attention is focused on building a new capital for residuary State of Andhra Pradesh.

Sources said that Naidu is unhappy with the idea of the Central Government officials deciding the location of new capital. He was personally keen to locate the new capital between Vijayawada and Guntur, a region where the TDP was the strongest. Naidu was also of the view that this location will be in the middle of the new State, at an equal distance for all the districts, right from Srikakulam in the north to Anantapur in the south. Despite being in coastal Andhra, this location will also be close to Rayalaseema region.

But even before building the new capital, Naidu was also keen to have a temporary office in Guntur to remain accessible to the people. After taking charge as the Chief Minister next month, Naidu will divide his time between Hyderabad, the joint capital and Guntur where he will have a camp office along with the Chief Secretary and Director General of Police.

Naidu’s camp office was likely to be situated at the Acharya Nagarjuna University, sources said. Meanwhile, the police have further upgraded the security at Naidu’s residence. He was already enjoying the Z+ security.
