Five passengers were killed while three others critically injured when gate of a goods train suddenly opened hitting the commuters of a passenger train. The incident was reported from Achaldar locality in Auraiya on Tuesday afternoon and the injured were shifted to PGI in Saifai at Etawah.
Reports said that a passenger train was passing when gate of a goods train coming from other side suddenly opened hitting eight passengers who were sitting on gate.
While three of the passengers who came under the wheels of the train died on the spot, two other succumbed on way to hospital.
A case has been registered in this regard and bodies were sent for post-mortem examination. Efforts were also on to maintain the identity of the victims.
