A JD(U) MlA have been accused in connection with a murder case. An FIR was lodged against JD(U) MlA from Warsaliganj in Nawada, Pradeep Kumar Mahto and four others, at Pakribarwan police station within hours of the murder of one Pappu Mahto. The FIR was lodged by the victim’s mother.
Pappu Mahto was shot dead by unidentified assailants near Devibigha when he was traveling by jeep on Tuesday, said the police. Incidentally, the victim’s father Shailendra Mahto too was murdered 12 years ago and the same JD(U) MlA was accused in that case as well, police said.
locals, however, believed that the murder of Pappu Mahto was the fallout of long drawn gangwar of the region. But the JD(U) MlA has denied the charge saying he was framed in the murder case for political reasons and he would come unscathed in the investigation. “The probe is underway in the murder case and guilty will not be spared at any cost whoever he may be so,” said the local police.
