The Gautam Budh Nagar Police has registered a First Information Report (FIR) after a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader, Shrikant Tyagi was found abusing a woman, a resident of Grand Omaxe sector 93B in Noida  during an argument over the plantation in the society.

The move comes after a video of Shrikant Tyagi, National Executive Member, BJP’s Kisaan Morcha, went viral on social media in which the Tyagi could be heard hurling abuses at the woman and even pushing her. “Don't you dare touch my plants otherwise I will see you....... I have registry of the area,” Tyagi said in the video. The victim woman can be heard in the video asking Tyagi to show the registry.

The social media was also filled with the video of the victim woman narrating the entire incident.“I live in Grand Omaxe. A man, named Shrikant Tyagi, residing on the ground floor was encroaching the society by planting small and large plants in the common area.

When I asked him to remove it, he denied and when I tried to remove them, he hurled abuses at me and for my husband and my kids,” the woman said in the video doing rounds on social media.

The video also shows the residents of the society accusing Tyagi of encroaching the area by planting small and large plants. The society residents also said that Tyagi had even pasted MLA sticker on his car and bullies everyone in the society.

“Tyagi is not a MLA and yet he is driving a car which has MLA sticker on it. His behavior has been similar with everyone in the society,” said a resident, who did not wished to be named.

Meanwhile, a senior police official said that Shrikant Tyagi has been booked under Indian Penal Code section 354 (assault or use of criminal force on any woman, intending to outrage or knowing it to be likely that he will thereby outrage her modesty).

Meanwhile, a local BJP office-bearer said he is not associated with the Noida unit of the party and holds no post here.

“His work area is Ghaziabad and he only lives here in this society," the BJP office-bearer said, requesting anonymity.
