Farmer's son kills self after humiliation

In a shocking incident, a son of a farmer committed suicide by jumping before a train after he was humiliated by the school authorities over his inability to pay the fee. Satish, a student of tenth standard in a private school, ended his life on Wednesday evening but it came to light late on Thursday when his family lodged a missing complaint with the police in Peddapalle town of Karimnagar district in Telangana.

In a chilling move, the boy self-recorded a video message explaining his decision to take the extreme step. “I was slapped by the Principal and then asked to stand outside classroom along with six other boys”, he said.

According to the video, in which the boy can be seen in school uniform, Satish’s family had paid Rs5,000 towards the school fee. “But my poor family could not afford to pay more,” he said.

Expressing his anguish over the treatment meted out to him, the student said that it was very humiliating and painful.

Apparently Satish took the decision to end his life at the school itself before he left the place during the lunch break. On the way back home, he borrowed mobile phone of his cousin and after recording the message and writing a note to his family, he left the home in the afternoon.

In his note left near the TV set at home, the boy asked his family to look at the video message and asked them not to search for him.

Cops found the body on the railway tracks 20 kms away from his home. Pedapalle police have registered a case of abetment to suicide against the school management. Satish was youngest of three siblings.
