Congress leader Fakir Siddiqui, who recently resigned from the party opposing the decision of Rahul Gandhi to appoint a party cadre joined the ruling Samajwadi Party here on Sunday.
Fakir took the membership of the party in the presence of SP spokesperson and State Minister Rajendra Chaudhury, former MP Bhagwati Singh and SP leader SRS Yadav.
Interestingly, Fakir Siddiqui joined the Congress party leaving the SP in 2011 just before the Assembly elections. later he contested the Assembly polls on Congress ticket from lucknow (Central) seat but lost.
