Special CBI court frames charges against Ramdev’s aide
In connection with fake certificate case and violation of the Indian Passport Act, the Special CBI Court in Dehradun fixed charges against yoga guru Baba Ramdev’s close aide Acharya Balkrishna under sections 420, 120 B, 468 and 471 of IPC on Wednesday.
Along with a few supporters, Balkrishna had reached the Court at noon and appeared before Special CBI Judicial Magistrate Pritu Sharma, where the court fixed charges against him under sections 420, 120B, 468 and 471 of IPC.
While interacting with media persons after coming out from the court, Balkrishna said, “I am a victim of conspiracy. The case had been filed against me in the court due to mala fide intention. I have faith in court and justice will prevail in my favour,” he said.
The CBI had filed a case of cheating and criminal conspiracy against Balkrishna in July 2012 for allegedly procuring fake education degree and violation of section 12 of Indian Passport Act for furnishing fake documents to get a passport. Balkrishna had allegedly submitted fake
educational certificates and other documents to obtain a passport. The decision to register the case against Balkrishna was taken after Sampurna Nand Sanskrit University denied ever having him on its rolls. Registrar of the university Rajnish Shukla had told the CBI that Balkrishna’s two degrees ‘Purv Madhyma’, a high school degree issued in 1991, and ‘Shastri’, a Sanskrit degree in 1996, don’t figure in the varsity’s records.
