In an assertion that is bound to put the the ruling BJP in a spot of both bother, Shiv Sena president Uddhav Thackeray admitted here on Tuesday that his party had put the Devendra Fandavis Government “on notice” and was not averse to withdrawing its support to it.
A day after Sena’s spokesperson Sanjay Raut went to town saying that the Devendra Fadnavis government “is on notice”, Uddhav confirmed the same and said cryptically: “During elections, you have code of conduct. The conduct of conduct will last for a particular period. Similarly, the notice period has a timeline. You will get to know as to when the notice period will end”.
Earlier, queried specially if the Sena would support the BJP-led government in Maharashtra till the completion of its full tenure, Uddhav categorically stated: “It is not necessary (that we will be with the BJP till the end). We are not bound by any such thing. After we have accepted them (BJP) as our own, we look forward to a similar response from their side”.
