The ugly turf war between two factions of ruling Telugu Desam Party in Prakasham district of Andhra Pradesh came to the fore once again on Tuesday with the supporters of both the sides resorting to attacks on each other.

While one group was led by TDP member of legislative council and strong man of the district politics Karnam Balram Krishnamurthy the other was led by his rival and TDP MlA G Ravi Kumar. In Tuesday’s incident, Ravi Kumar fell down on the ground and his shirt was torn.

The incident came three days after the killing of two supporters of Karnam Balram allegedly by the supporters of Ravi Kumar. Fourteen members of Ravi Kumar faction have surrendered to the police.

The latest incident occurred in the presence of State Ministers Paritala Sunita and P Narayana, many other MlAs and party leaders who had gathered for consultations for the election of the district party president.

Eyewitnesses said the trouble began when Karnam and his supporters blocked the entrance of the venue when Ravi Kumar arrived with his supporters. When Ravi’s gunman tried to clear the way, Karnam got angry and the two groups started attacking each other.
