Giving a thumbs up to the Yogi Government on its performance in the last one year, Governor Ram Naik said that investors showing interest to invest in Uttar Pradesh during ‘Investors Meet’ proved that the face of the State changed in the last one year.
“I am from Mumbai, known as the financial capital of India. I can tell one thing that investors will invest in only that area, where they were assured of return. The way Investors from Mumbai showed their interest in investing in UP proves that their belief about the state has changed in the last 12 months,” Naik said while addressing a function on the occasion of first anniversary of the Yogi government in lucknow on Monday.
Though he did not talk about law and order and other contentious issues, Naik spoke about his relations with the Governments — both Samajwadi Party and BJP.
“A Governor has a direct link with the State Government. I can vouch that my relationship with previous Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav was very good but I also enjoy a madhur (sweet) relation with Yogi,” the Governor said.
Showering praise on Yogi, he said that the Chief Minister was sensitive and responsible towards the people of the state. He talked about suggestions he had given to the Government from time to time.
“I had given many suggestions to the SP Government which includes celebration of ‘UP Day’ on January 24 which was not accepted. But I am a steadfast type of person and when Yogi took over, I hgave the same suggestion and he agreed and organised a massive function,” he said.
“Similarly, Yogi accepted my suggestion to celebrate 100 years of the iconic call of ‘Swaraj is my birth right’ given by Gangadjar Tilak. Many people did not know that Tilak had given this call in lucknow,” Naik said.
Claiming that UP will transform into a ‘ Uttam Pradesh’ during this regime, the Governor said that the state Government’s report card gives the entire picture of how serious the BJP Government was to serve the people of UP.
