With the arrest of two henchmen of 'Khoda gang', Delhi Police on Tuesday busted the extortion racket being operated from Mandoli prison in national Capital. On the direction of their gang leaders in prison the accused had planned a spate of murders to stamp supremacy at Khoda Colony in Ghaziabad.

The accused have been identified as Bal Kishan a resident of Trilok puri, Delhi and Mohammad Ateek a resident of Khoda colony in Ghaziabad Uttar Pradesh (UP).

They are henchmen of Khoda Gang leader Chanderbhan who used to act at his behest from Mandoli jail.

According to Pramod Singh Kushwaha, the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Special Cell, specific inputs were received regarding that gang leader Chanderbhan was passing instructions to his henchmen to execute the killings of two persons whenever they sight them in the area following which team swung into action which led to the arrest of Bal Kishan and Ateek.

"During interrogation, the accused disclosed that they had target two person with whom they had extorted money earlier and were planning to extort again but during subsequent extortion attempts, one of the victim lodged a case of extortion against Chandarbhan which led to his arrest," said the DCP.

"This killing would have served the dual purpose for Chanderbhan for stamping authority in Khoda Colony as a dreaded extortionist and he also would have eliminated the witness of an extortion case against him," said the DCP.

"Subsequently the police team searched Mandoli jail barrack in which Chandarbhan has been ladged and one diary containing the details of arrested accused Ateek was recovered," said the DCP adding that further investigation is going on.
