Former Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi has said that Chief Minister Nitish Kumar might support Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi as the Congress Prime Ministerial candidate for the 2014 lok Sabha elections, particularly when Kumar warmly accepted and appreciated the support of the Congress to his confidence motion in the State Assembly.
Modi told newspersons in Patna on Wednesday that Kumar had a soft corner for the Congress even when he was serving as NDA chief Minister.
Now, when he had snapped his party’s ties with the BJP, he has started shedding his all inhibitions in praising the Congress and its leaders, conveniently forgetting that he is the product of anti-Congressism, Modi added. The former Deputy Chief Minister said that it is very painful that two leaders with the anti-Congress sentiments — lalu Prasad and Nitish Kumar have no moral compunction while jumping on the lap of the Congress.
He said that lalu has already joined the Congress bandwagon while Nitish Kumar is preparing to do so.Modi said that Nitish Kumar is now making irresponsible statements after breaking 17-year-long alliance with the BJP.“How he can claim that any single leader has taken over the BJP and only one person is taking all party decisions,” the BJP leader asked while obliquely defending Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi’s elevation in the party.
He said that Kumar should substantiate his allegations by giving instances in this regard. He alleged that Kumar saved his Government by applying “Jugad Technology” and hence the BJP found it appropriate not to participate in the voting as its result was foregone conclusion.
