Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray on Monday advocated the need for enforcing “Sharia-type law” in the country so that the hands and legs of rapists could be chopped off. Addressing the media at Kopardi village in Ahmednagar district after visiting the family of a 15-year-old girl, who was raped and murdered early this month, Raj said, “In order to deal sternly with the rapists and those indulging in offences against women, we need to have a Sharia-type law under which we chop off legs and hands of the offenders concerned”.In his criticism of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis of the deteriorating situation in the State, the MNS chief said, “let the people know that there has been a change in the Government in the State. The Government should function in such way that there is fear of law among mischief mongers in the State. Mere giving of arm licences would help. You should show the writ of law runs in the State.
