Energy Minister hits out at SP, BSP for criticising Yogi Govt

Published on:

Government spokesperson and Energy Minister Srikant Sharma lambasted both the Samajwadi Party and the Bahujan Samaj Party for criticising the BJP Government over different issues.

“The electorate of UP had rejected both Akhilesh Yadav and Mayawati during the recent Assembly poll. Hence both are frustrated and making baseless allegations against the BJP Government thereby ind-

ulging in cheap politics. The Opposition parties should wait for sometime before assessing the performance of the Yogi Government,” said Sharma.

“People should question the performance of the Government at least after it completes 100 days in office,” he said while responding to allegations by both the SP and the BSP that the law and order has deteriorated in UP after the BJP came to power.

On the raid by Special Task Force on seven petrol pumps and subsequent seizure for tampering measurement meter, the Minister said that the State Government has communicated the matter to Union Ministry of Petroleum for action.

Asked about the controversy over exorbitant fee charging by private schools and colleges, the Minister said that the Government is aware of the matter and it is committed to regulating the fee charged by private schools.

Sharma refuted charges that action against illegal slaughter houses and tanneries was aimed at targeting a particular community.

He said that the State Government has only implemented the directives of National Green Tribu-

nal and Supreme Court which were enforcing laws for

controlling pollution, environment protection and maintaining sanitation and public health.

The Minister said that the Government was committed to cleaning Ganga and Yamuna rivers  and there would be no discrimination in implementation of the court orders.
