Dilip Ghosh, the Bengal BJP president, remained unrepentant even after FIRs were lodged against him for giving encounter threats to some “branded” Trinamool Congress leaders.
Wading into yet another controversy Ghosh earlier told a meeting in Jalpaiguri that some branded Trinamool leaders would soon be in jail or killed in encounters.
Apparently he was referring to a top Birbhum TMC strongman infamous for issuing blood-curdling speeches that include asking his supporters to torch opposition houses and bomb police vehicles. “We will make every bullet to count,” he said adding days were coming when TMC leaders indulging in hooliganism would either be jailed or killed in encounter.
Referring to the famous dialogue of Gabbar Singh in Sholay where he asked his failed comrades to count the bullets in the gun before shooting through them Ghosh said “bullets will be counted and shot,” adding the dead bodies too would be counted.”
He also referred to the gun culture introduced in Bengal by the TMC leaders during elections and said “we cannot take things lying down any more. There is a limit to our tolerance.”
Soon the Jalpaiguri Police filed FIRs against Ghosh and some other BJP leaders for making provocative speeches in public.
