Three of the arrested accused in the photojournalist gang-rape were virtually at the receiving end on Friday, as the ruling NCP’s women activists hurled eggs at them while they were led away by the police from a city court. After being remanded in police custody till September 5, the three accused — Shiraz Rehman Khan, Vijay Jadhav and Kasim Bengali — were being escorted by the investigators to a police jeep, when some irate NCP Mahila Morcha activists hurled eggs at them and demanded capital punishment to them. The women protesters were taken into custody and let off later in the evening.
